Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 11, 2026
The short version: TrackMyTears does not collect, store, or share your personal data on any external server. All your journal entries, voice memos, and settings stay on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We have no analytics, no ads, and no third-party tracking.
1. Who We Are
TrackMyTears is developed and operated by EpicAbid. This privacy policy explains how the TrackMyTears iOS application ("the App") handles your information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Sign In with Apple
The App uses Sign In with Apple for authentication. When you sign in, Apple provides us with:
- A unique, anonymous user identifier (not your Apple ID)
- Your name (only if you choose to share it)
- Your email address (only if you choose to share it; you may use Apple's private email relay to hide your real address)
This information is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not transmit it to any external server.
2.2 Journal Entries and Voice Memos
The App allows you to create text journal entries and record voice memos using your device's microphone. All of this content is:
- Stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework
- Synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit (if iCloud is enabled on your device)
We have no access to your journal entries or voice memos. They exist only on your devices and your iCloud account.
2.3 App Preferences
Your settings and preferences (such as emoji theme, ambient sound selection, and view preferences) are stored locally on your device. These are never transmitted externally.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or have access to:
- Analytics or usage data -- we do not track how you use the App
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Crash reports (unless you opt in to share diagnostics with Apple directly via iOS Settings)
- Health or fitness data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal data beyond what is described above
4. How Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored using Apple's frameworks:
- On-device: SwiftData (local database on your iPhone or iPad)
- iCloud: Apple CloudKit sync (encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple)
We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure. Your data never passes through our systems.
5. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service involved is Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Microphone Access
The App requests access to your device's microphone solely for recording voice memo journal entries. Microphone access is:
- Requested only when you choose to record a voice memo
- Used exclusively within the App for recording
- Never used for background listening or any other purpose
Audio recordings are stored locally and in your iCloud account, as described in Section 2.2.
7. On-Device AI Processing
The App may use on-device machine learning for features such as sentiment analysis and emotional trend summarization. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to external AI services or servers.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party. Period.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored on your device and your iCloud account, you have full control:
- Delete individual entries at any time within the App
- Delete all data using the "Delete All Entries" option in Settings
- Delete your account using the "Delete All Data & Sign Out" option in Settings, which removes all local data and signs you out
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
Data synced to iCloud can be managed through your iCloud storage settings on your device.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can assist.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
